I had trouble sleeping last night. I worked the 5:30am-noon shift at Trader Joes yesterday, and took a nap when I got home, but still, being up until 3am is highly unusual for me. I think it’s mostly due to excitement over getting started on the P90X program. I was pretty jacked up thinking about the possibilities whilst perusing tons of blogs from people who are also on P90X. I started thinking about how the rest of this year is going to unfold, and I’ll either be in Grad School or substitute teaching in the Fall, and the first holidays with Maxwell will be coming, I’ll feel more comfortable on a skateboard again, hockey season will be starting up again, etc.
I mapped out the dates, and if the package arrives this week as it’s supposed to, I can begin the program on Monday, May 25th. The full 90 day cycle of the program will conclude on August 24th, and should I be accepted to Grad School, the program starts on August 31st, so I am going to utilize that one week window to do a family road trip up the coast of California with my new found health. It’s amazing how the stars of life can align themselves perfectly from time to time.
I’ve been eating pretty well and running this week, and that will continue through the following week as I prepare my body for the hell it’s about to endure. There is no reason to go off the rails and start eating a bunch of garbage or get lazy. I am going to try to use this time wisely by running 3-4 more times, daily stretching, working on my abs and doing my pushups all in an effort to get my body a little more acclimated to constant use. Just had a bowl of Organic Nature’s Path Flakes and some Rice Milk (better enjoy it now, carbs are going out the window for the first 30 days of the program) and I’m going for a hike today. Have a great Sunday.
